I built this desk for a friend of mine a couple of months ago for helping me put a new roof on my house. It is made out of cherry, these photos were taken before i put any finish on it. I rubbed in one coat of linseed oil and set it out in the sun for about nine or ten hours, it darkened to a nice reddish brown color. The dove tails are hand cut and there is a till inside one end. This was a fun project and he was pleased with it. ( sorry about the quality of the photos ).

This is gorgeous. It would make any Shaker proud to see the justice you’ve done to their work.

Congratulations on making a nice project. The wood selection and the construction are well done. I’d love to see some pictures of the inside and the drawer construction.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here are three more pics, the last one was taken before i got the proper screws for the hinges, i didn’t want to use brass screws so i had to order some small steel slotted ones. The big drawer has blind dovetails but i didn’t get them in the photo.
