Again, another gift for my wife that I’ve finally gotten good photos of.
The chest is all in cherry. I aquired a lovely board that had swirled black sap lines in it. I cut the drawer fronts so that the hardware is centered on the swirls. A 12’ by 8” wide board yeilded the five drawer fronts!
The legs are solid to the top of the piece adding strength.
The top section opens to form a small jewelry box.
The second photo was taken shortly after it was made. You can see how rich the cherry has become in 4 years.

Douglas,
Finish is water based poly sprayed on with a cheap Rockler HVLP system. I like the ease of use of the poly and get good results with it. It is VERY durable.
