Lingerie Chest

Again, another gift for my wife that I’ve finally gotten good photos of.

The chest is all in cherry. I aquired a lovely board that had swirled black sap lines in it. I cut the drawer fronts so that the hardware is centered on the swirls. A 12’ by 8” wide board yeilded the five drawer fronts!

The legs are solid to the top of the piece adding strength.

The top section opens to form a small jewelry box.

The second photo was taken shortly after it was made. You can see how rich the cherry has become in 4 years.

Again, very nice and well thought out. A good use of what the Lord provided.

Gotta second Thos. Great idea on the hardware placement. What finish did you use?
Thanks for sharing this.

Douglas,

Finish is water based poly sprayed on with a cheap Rockler HVLP system. I like the ease of use of the poly and get good results with it. It is VERY durable.
