Paint booth

I made this out of a canopy frame (background is one), some 1×2’s and some plastic sheeting.

I made it in panels so in case anything rips/tears or gets ruined I can just replace the panel. There are 5 side panels and 1 top panel. The top has additional plastic sheet to keep spray from escaping through the cracks.

The floor is one of the free tarps from HF

The rear panel is removable to allow wind to go through the unit without damaging it on windy days.

Behind the booth is a 24×24 slot where a air filter goes – the filter can actually be any size as there is only a bottom to hold it up. The sides and top are wide open – that way what ever cheap filter is on sale will fit :)

In front of the air filters, on a table I put a fan for exhaust to suck the spray out

Works very well actually – the fan sucks out the over spray and keeps it from painting my yard ;)

The whole thing will slide back and fit under the canopy in the background during rain.

It’s not pretty but it’s functional

One of the process that can ruin a project in one pass, contamination from surprise unwanted airborne guests (curent defence members excluded)

I use my camping kitchen Gazzebo much to the annoyance of my wife

Agreed rob – but hey, this was practically free, available and if it poses a real problem I can easily add a door.

So far the only problem we’ve had with bugs is during the drying process when the items were laid out or hung to dry :(

We have shed (in the background) if we clean it out enough we may be able to hang/place items for drying in there.

Problem is we live in Florida and that shed gets very hot and humid in july-august – afraid the items won’t dry properly.
