Cutting Boards for Christmas

With the baseball bats done for the nephews, we started working on the cheese boards and knives for the Moms and sisters of the family.

Maple and walnut boards made in the lathe. My wife burned in different tree leaf patterns with an entry level woodburner that looks like a soldering iron.

These ones are oak leaves with acorns, olive leaves and ginko leaves.

We call these the “Turning and Burning” projects. I turn, my wife burns!

These take about an hour to turn and 2 hours to burn if you want to try some.

Beautiful, When I lived in Wales there were a few wood turners making similar boards. I still have one and cherish it as a functional kitchen decoration.

Hey Bob

Really nice, as usual. The turning looks good, but the woodburning is outstanding. I’ll br showing the pictures to my wife and suggesting that she starts practicing ;)
