Drill Press Table Upgrade

It is one of those tools that I would never buy new. It doesn’t have a crank, so raising the table requires that you lift it and tighten the friction clamp. But, 40 years ago I could afford to swap for this 1953 Montgomery Wards PowrKraft table top drill press. Since it was made the year I was born, I have a thing for it. It works well enough and I think it will be more functional with a fence and bigger table.

Looks good to me, I like many others like the homemade stuff. Your drill press table make mine look like they’re from the Flinstones. I wish I has made a replaceable insert though. Still want to but I’ll probably have to build new ones because I glued my fences to the bases. I made two, one for wood use, one for metal use.

That’s a nice drill press table and should be a nice addition to your shop.
