Made a desk for my son. Can’t do homework on the kitchen table or the floor forever. The legs and aprons are made from pine. The top and drawer fronts are made from curly maple. Traditional joinery twin tenons, dovetails, etc. The top is curly maple turned on edge. If you’re familiar with Tom Fidgen I got the idea from him. Tried a new technique (for me) which was applying custom molding to the legs and side aprons. Painted the desk with Federal Blue milk paint. Shellac finish on the maple which was probably a mistake for my 5 yr.old but we’ll see. Took way longer than I wanted and I don’t know exactly why. But he’s happy, the wife is happy so this project is a success.

I like tappered leggs. Colours are great too.
