Nice job on that piece. What is a trencher used for?

They historically were used a trays, serving bowls, etc. They were all sizes and shapes (ovals, rectangles, etc.). This particular one is used by my wife as part of a centerpiece on our dining room table. I made another out of reclaimed cedar that is used as a serving tray. Note that this one does not have a liquids friendly finish, so is food safe only for dry items (e.g. rolls).
