My wife said she needed a big bookcase for her office. She’s got a bachelors degree, two masters and going for her Dr of Audiology now so she has lots of books and keeps getting more. Hope this is big enough. It is 9’ wide and 7’ tall. Made of red oak. Thanks for looking.

Looks great! How did you attach the shelves? I’m looking at doing some similar shelving and I’m trying to figure out the best way to mount them. Thanks!

Thanks all.

Guns, I use shelf pins. The bookcase is made in 6 separate cases. So each case is basically a box with 1\4” holes every inch up the sides to make the shelves adjustable. The cases are stacked, screwed together and to the wall and then trim applied to the front. The shelves are made with 3/4” oak plywood with a 1” oak front and back to add stiffness and hide plywood edge.

Large bookcases in red oak….what’s not to like?
Great project, looks nice situated right where it is, too. Let’s see a pic of it populated with books and decorator pieces!

Great looking bookcase, Bill! It was fun seeing it come together, and now that it has, it’s great seeing it finished! I’m sure your wife loves it!
