Some friends wanted a futon frame with an Asian influence. They enjoyed coming with me to choose the lumber and were shocked at the price!

The bed is made from curly maple, wenge and mahogany. Large dovetails at the corners prevent it from pulling apart. This detail is carried onto the end table top as well. It is finished with shellac and wax.

Very nicely done. I like the clean lines and subtle curve.

Thanks all for the compliments. For mnorusis – it was finished with shellac and wax because I don’t expect it to receive hard service.

Nice execution of the mitered dovetails. I’ve never seen that done before. That whole set looks really nice!

Very nice and clean. I crack up when people want something made and I tell them how much the wood costs. They freak and reply I can buy it at the store cheaper, Yes, but it is not normally solid wood. Nice Job.
