This goblet turned out no to bad in my humble opinion.
Turned from a piece of Walnut branch wood ; semi-green, to finish. Goblet is about 3.75” in diameter, and is 4.25” tall. Finished with Hut Crystal Coat friction polish.
This was a fun project, and I learnt a lot doing it. ...

Great looking piece. Some day I will get brave enough to run an natural edge like this. What lathe(s) are you using? I am looking at getting a better one, larger and for the bench. A midi lathe maybe a Jet 1220 VS?

Hacksaw007 : thanks for the comment, It really isn’t that hard to do…... Sharp tools and go at it in the right sequence. You don’t need a big high powered machine to do these little things, but a bigger and better machine is always nice if you have the disposable income and want to upgrade…... There is a lot of really nice machines available…... Have a look at the Nova DVR, or if you can handle it a Powermatic.
I use a General International 25-650, and have been very happy with it…... Got it just a year ago.
See my blog from then.... There is pictures of my GI 25-650 in the blog.

Very nice goblet. That walnut sure looks great. By the way thanks for the comments on the bird house ornament. I was inspired from seeing yours and thought I would give them a try, I got the bird from Craft Supply out of Utah, It came with Kit, which included a drawing, wood, eyelet and bird.

Fantastic goblet! The live edge is unique to each turning and yours stands out. Love the walnut, from core to bark is such a drastic transition.
Great job. Keep it up.

Amazing goblet Brian! You have been making a lot of nice stuff lately, but I think I like this best of all. As Scrappy said, it is unique.
