Here’s ours sons bed…this was a challange since we had no plans, we just went off the dimensions of the mattress. We picked up some cherry from a guy here in town (Inverness, Florida) and we bought all the fiqured Cherry that he had. We used some Tigerwood on the Headboard when we rean out of Cherry and the foot board is’t as high as we would like it to be. All the molding was hand made. This was our first attempt at bending / laminating wood, it was trying and fun all at the same time.
We are going to be doing another one for our other son here soon

Well done pat yourself on the back and get to work on your other sons bed. I like the leather in the headboard. It sets the headboard off well and when your son flaps his hands around in his sleep it wont heart so much.

Looks great Lori … I’m in the process of building a bed for my oldest son. It is taking a little more time than most of the projects I usually tackle.
