My Father, Brother and I tore down a crumbling Horse Tack shed a couple of summers ago, and some the interior walls were made up of 1×3 wood. This shed was on my parents property and i enjoyed using and exploring in this shed when i was a kid. Well i took a bunch of it home and it sat for a long time hogging up space in my garage. I saw a Toy chest online and thought that’s what i would do with this wood. The toy chest is for my daughter and Son. pretty simple construction, the trim i stained with Special Walnut, and the lid and main parts are stained with Golden Oak. I had to cut off part of the Hinges to fit properly. I am unsure as to what type of wood t is. I thought it turned out pretty well and hopefully the kids enjoy it. thanks for looking

So nicely used old wood, that’s why it looks so good and rustic.
