....we salute you ! ”
Just finished the 3 Children’s Adirondack Rocking Chairs to go with my new Rocker Over the years, I have sold hundreds of plans for my regular Child, Junior and Youth sized children's chairs , and I hope the rockers will be popular as well.
These three chairs are wider than the regular reductions and should fit most children as they grow. My wife can even fit into the Youth chair, but it’s too short for her 5’ 2” stature.
I used 5’ cedar 5/8” fence boards from Home Depot to design the kids chairs. The Child size stock is planed to 1/2”, the junior is a combination of 1/2” and 5/8”, and the Youth chair is all full size fence boards. I had to glue up boards for the arms and side panels of the Youth size. If you go through a fresh skid of fence boards, you will always find a good selection of very clear stock, as you can see by my chairs.
The rockers are made from Home Depot nominal 1 1/4” cedar deck boards, which are finished to 1”. I planed the Junior rockers to 7/8” and the Child rockers to 5/8”.....these boards doubled up produce the perfect reduction percentage to the adult rockers.
EMagic has finished the CAD , DWG & DXF conversions of the patterns. I am writing the instructions now, and hope to have them all ready in a week or so. All images on the PDF’s are linked to expanded views for ease of construction.
The family that rocks together….stays together ! Thanks for looking.
