Tall mic stand

Taking a needed break from the sideboard for a quickie: My real gig is music and I needed a tall microphone stand to record a pipe organ. This one stretches up 20 feet (6m) and collapses down to fit in my car. I’ve got another section that would take it up to 25, but that actually turned out to be overkill for this gig. PVC certainly isn’t the most elegant of materials but I had to work fast. At least there’s some wood (albeit scrap framing lumber) in there.

Total cost: $8

Great job! A studio boom stand that size would be several hundred bucks! How did the recording go?
