that’s a great looking table. The finish is beautiful.
I’m curious, I was actually thinking of making a coffee table like this, with that top set into the skirt (I think that’s what they’re called?) with rabbet…but don’t you need to worry about wood movement?

I built the tables the same way David did. I added wood strips on the inside of the aprons to support the top. The top is veneer glued to a MDF substrate, therefore you don’t have to worry about wood movement.
The finish is tung oil, and three coats of stain poly.
