I built this guitar based on blueprints from Elderly instruments. The back and sides are from locally harvested walnut and the soundboard is spruce. The neck is laminated mahogany, curly maple and walnut. the fretboard and bridge are both rosewood.

I’ve documented the build at my web site Plank and Plane – I don’t have all the videos up yet but I’m working on editing and posting those as time allows.

I have a friend who builds acoustic guitars. I’ve seen the process, this is no small feat. Very very good job!

I built one about 50 years ago. Yours is beautiful.

Nice work Randy. I built a tenor as well, these tuning options are a lot of fun. Since the tenor guitar is tuned in 5ths, like the violin family and mandoilns, fiddle cross tuning also works very well. CGCG or DADA

Thanks for the kind comments. It is tuned to GDAE – I play the mandolin and wanted the tenor guitar to be tuned the same.
