abstract chip carving (can you guess what it is)

This piece has become the source of a family game. We have our guests try and guess what it is and only about 30% are able to guess what it is on the first try. I bet you guys can see it no problem

It was not intended to be difficult to see but proved to be so when my mother-in-law was unable to see what it was even after some long explaining. To this day she can’t see it!!

I got the original idea of this from an adult coloring book I walked passed in a book store. It was on sale so I bought it and was able to use the general outline and fill in the rest with my own chip ideas. Enjoy!

Well, I see an alligator head sticking out of saw grass.
I may be wrong but, that’s what comes to mind.

I’m not sure of what it is. However, it is a beautiful piece; I do know that. Nice work, Coss.

The diversity of response has brought me great joy and laughter. It’s amazing how different all of our minds work!! Here is a picture of the original inspiration and picture I used as a template. Pauldoug, Pottz, and Derek you all guessed the original intent of the carving but I think Pottz also nailed it in saying that there is no wrong answer.
