This one was a cool project, but I feel kind of nerdy displaying it. It was an idea of mine to combine all of the components to a game I love to play called Settlers of Catan. This carrying case houses all of the pieces to the game including all of the add-ons and expansion packs. The top secures with a bullet catch and has heavy duty hinges. The instructions to the game are stored in a slim drawer only on wood glides. All the pieces are accessable via finger cutouts. It is 1/2” solid maple construction on the outsied with 1/4” solid maple on the inside components with walnut splined mitered corners. it measures 12” wide by 17” long by 6-1/4” tall.

I have to admit, I wan’t overly impressed looking at the first photo of the exterior. But when I saw the inside… WOW! Your interior detail work on this is just crazy good! Love it!

I am assuming that the game doesn’t come with a box? is it one of those games that you collect parts and pieces as you learn it? It is a really nice box and a custom way to organize everything. The inside is beautifully done.

Great work.

I’ve been thinking about doing something similar. Once you start adding expansions, the pile of boxes get annoying.

A very cool idea. I too have this game and have thought about building a box for it. I love the idea that you have made room for all the expansions.

I will apologize in advance if this a completely inappropriate question for this website. I am a crafter, just not of wood. I wish I had the skill, the tools, the space. That being said, I am wondering if any of the works here can be commissioned. I am one who does fiber arts and of like mind, will create something out of need. I recently started playing Settlers of Catan with family and friends and love the fact that it goes a bit against the digital age. It is face to face fun. I want a beautiful box to store it in, not the cardboard one it comes in. Out of the few that I can find on the internet, this one is the most beautiful….to me. If there is any chance at all…..
P.S. and I live in the Twin Cities…

It’s a beautiful box. Apparently I need to check into this game.

It appears to me that you have a few potential customers for your box mere moments after you posted it online.

I would suggest that many a business venture happened serendipitously. (By happenstance)
