For some reason, the wife wanted some chick coops for the house – no we have no chickens. The long red one was done with the remains of my old entertainment center I built out of pallet wood, and the blue one from pine scraps that I had around. The one interesting thing about the long one – I didn’t have a long enough board for the bottom front piece, so I dovetailed two pieces together along the vertical axis. The blue one was painted blue and sanded to look distressed. The red one was painted and then a dark stain dry brushed on.

Wives can be strange creatures some times. Best to keep them happy.
Are the oak cabinets under the chicken boxes your work also?

best to keep them happy is right!! And look at what came from her creative idea!!! I love it.
Reminds me of the commercial:
Wife: I think of the ideas and he figures them out! :)
I bet they would love to see this at GardenTenders.

Cool …....different decor but looks good…....and if you ever do get some cluckers…...there’s already some houses.
Nice job.

Those are nicer than what my chickens get. They would be jealous.
Have your say...
