A good friend of mine was unloading some of his woodworking hand tools to raise some cash, so how could I refuse the Ashley ILes chisels he offered me. I already had the AI stubby chisels so I thought I would make a rack to hold them all in. Unfortunately, I hadn’t enough space in my tool cab to store them so I made the little racks to hang them on the outside of the doors of the tool cab you see in the third photograph.
Made from scraps of BB ply and mahogany, the back of the chisel holder is beveled at 10 degrees so the chisel blades nestle against the back board and not rattle around each time the doors are opened.
Simple enough and I think they look quite good too against the cabinet.
