I made these as a calibration to give one and keep the other.

They are made from Ash Body and Purple heart sole. The iron is 1/4” thick O1 tool steel. all told they took me about 60 hours to make.

They were made completely with hand tools. The sole and body are tong and groove fitted so that you can see the T&G in the mouth as well as the sides. the iron is beaded at 45% and the iron has an angle of 30%

Even the iron was shaped by hand on sand paper.

The pen is brass. and seats the iron well.

All told this has been one of my favorite projects yet! The best pare is I am giving one of them away if you want to know how check out this video.
