Hello all!
I just finished a project of two white oak Morris chairs and two foot stools. I used red mahogany stain for the finish.

The table is one of two I made a year or so ago from red oak. Made them before I had a mortising machine!

I’m an old woodworking machines hobbyist so I got to use my 70’s Rockwell setup for dimensioning, a mortiser, and then used hand planes and chisels for fitting and finish. Made my own pegs with a dowel plate.

Peschous upholstery here in Lincoln NE did the cushions and upholstery.

Going to see if my wife will be able to find a nice lamp for the table. Just joined the site, so sorry I don’t have any lead up to this or more in progress info or pix!

Very nicely done, I just made two sofas of similar design and dont have room in my house for a chair although I’d like to build one.. the upholstery complements it well.

Very nice! Welcome to LJs! We need more A&C furniture makers here. A bow-arm Morris chair is very high on my bucket list. For future projects of this magnitude, please consider doing a build blog. I believe you’ll find it a cathartic experience and we’ll get to live through your builds vicariously.

Thanks you all! For the upholstery I was going to try to find some hides but after considering the cost of 7 yards, we decided to go with the vinyl. The upholstery shop had a whole bunch of books of samples that we went through and deliberated on and came back to this green.
I’ve been trying to make 2 of everything just so I can use the same setups and mindset to get two out of one. That way I can try to sell the other one if it’s not needed.
Looking to make a bunch of storm windows and a few screen doors for our house, so CaptainSkully I’ll try to snap some more pictures and get them right-side up on here! I’d like to get things set up for production speed.
Thanks again

That’s some fine woodworking there sir. I have always really liked a good Morris Chair.
They are more challenging to build that you think, especially the slant arm version.

Well done.

Well done! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Did you use any particular plans for the chairs?

Hey, Sam, welcome to LJs. The chairs and foot stools look great as does the table. If you want a fun project for a lamp, consider this.
