I just completed a cradle project for a couple friends of ours (wife and I) based on plans from Wood magazine. The basket portion is built of hard maple. The frame is of walnut. Cherry stain with Tung oil finish on the walnut. Just Tung oil on the maple. Quite the learning experience. Hard wood is a whole lot different to work with compared to pine.

Thank you for the compliments. This was definitely one of the fanciest projects I’ve ever worked on. Took a lot of shaping to get all the tapers and curves done right.
