I’ve been busy with more home improvement projects, but I managed to snap a few pictures of some of the things I’ve made lately. The first is a tapering sled for the table saw. It’s based on Steve Latta’s article in FWW from …o, I forget, about 2 years ago or so. It’s been Very useful. I may make another, larger version. This one handles the typical furniture scale work fine, but I have had a call for a few large scale tapers and this jig doesn’t have the reach.
The second item, also inspired by Steve Latta it turns out, is a removable mini workbench that clamps on top of a regular work bench (or other handy surface). The advantage for me is that it brings small work up to easy eye height, something that seems to be more and more of a problem lately. It’s a nice addition for the fussy smaller scale work.

That’s a very good taper sled. It’s much better than the one I have. I put this one in my favorite list. Now, if I can just get a round tuit, I plan to make one.

I found the source for the taper jig. It’s not Steve Latta, it’s Jeff Gross, FWW Issue 194, page 48.

Cool, I like that mini-workbench/vise idea :)
