This is a recently completed entertainment center. My wife did not like my super stylish mdf and threaded rod modern look. She is now happy because you don’t see the wires anymore.
This one is mdf, but painted. Also uses pine for the face frame and moldings. It also has hiden large casters so that it is easy to move and get back to all the connections. Sadly my horrible photography makes the finish look bad in the last photo, but it actually turned out OK.

Thanks guys…
The speakers are Monitor Audio, and they don’t get to play much above a whisper anymore with the little one around.

Nice work! Have you had any problems with your cable/DVR unit overheating? I had a similar setup for mine, and I ended up having to put the box on top of the unit to overcome the problem.

Yeah, they are pretty bad about that – I’ve had issues with it even when it was on a shelf by itself. I use the AppleTV more than the actual TV, so it hasn’t been that big of an issue.

Hey nice job. I am getting ready to same thing and paint it balck for the kid’s room. I was going to mdf and pine or poplar for the face also. Nothing too fancy, but I was wondering how you did your finish. It looks really good. Did you just prime it and use a latex paint or what. thanks

I used a spray can primer, and then two coats of flat black latex paint. I am really happy how the finish turned out as well.
