March 2016—I’ve made lots of boxes on the band saw with a curved top. But it only occurred to me now to try also curving two sides. So here is the result. Maybe I could curve all four sides next time! :-)

Wood is assorted hardwood scraps, glued up. Some pretty woods in here.

I attended the annual Tampa Woodworking Show. An incredible show as always. At one of the Fine Woodworking clinics, finishing was discussed and a product called “Waterlox” was discussed. This is an oil-base product that may be rubbed on to finish a project. This box uses the Waterlox free sample provided at the show. I like the subtle sheen it gives off. I will definitely be buying some Waterlox!

Dimensions: 5×4.25×3.25 inches.

Very interesting shape: rustic, organic, and geometric at the same time. I second Hawaiilad’s question – can you tell us more about your process? Thanks for posting.

Pretty unusual design but I like the variety of woods.
