Maple and purple heart are really good as a contrasting and complimentary choice of timbers.. the tiger stripes are fantastic..
How are you shaping the sides and what’s inside..??

The bottom is lined with black velvet these boxes don’t have any dividers but I do use divider sometimes. The sides are shaped on the table saw with lots of featherboards and push blocks. To smooth out the machine marks I’ve tried sanding, jointer, hand planes but on the figured wood hand sanding and a card scraper seems to work best and most consistently.
