I made this flag display for my friend who’s father (decorated war hero) had passed suddenly. He wanted a display that could also hold the casings from his 21 gun salute. I settled on a design that would allow the bottom to come off easy for easy access to the casings, but they will also come out directly from the front if you push them up, then pull out from an angle. This was a challenging project and I learned the importance of building a gig for your miter saw to cut acute angles. Since then, I have used that jig a lot… Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks,
Patrick

Great tribute to a deceased veteran. The casing from the 21 gun salute certainly personalizes it.

Thanks for sharing.
