Fireplace Job

The above photos are of a fireplace I did for some old friends. I guess I deleted the pics of the early framing stages, but who wants to see that anyways. The couple I built the fireplace for gave me a picture googled off the web, and wanted me to build a mantle similar. After framing I went and got some sheets of primed birch and lumber and started to cover my studs. The trim is a pretty simple library panel, i used a primed birch bc the couple was going to paint white. I’m not a fan of painting wood, but since I was only doing the woodwork to keep cost down it meant less work for me. I completed this project early in December ‘16 just in time to hang cheistmas decorations and when the couple finished the fire place they sent me a picture that could have been in Better Homes and Gardens.
