Our Nephew, Darren, was killed in a tragic motorcycle in Dec. of 05. He was only 23 with a full life ahead of him and was loved by all of his nieces, nephews and is greatly missed still today. He was refered to as their “Uncle D”. His brother and wife had their first son born just a few weeks earlier. So with a sad heart I made this shadow box memorial for him so he will always have something to remember his “Uncle D”. He was a huge LSU fan and loved anything connected with LSU. My wife and I provided the casket flowers and in the middle of the flowers we had them place this tiger representing LSU. I put the tiger in the box and when I found this picture, which was done by a local artist, I thought it was the perfect finishing touch. To me, the tiger eyes, the essence of our beloved nephew, is watching over his sleeping nephew to help guide him and ensure his well being in life.

Also, if you notice the name train that I made for our grandson, our daughter and SIL named him after Darren and already he showing signs of his namesake. He is full of life and energy and is going to be a handfull as he gets older.

Very nice Bobby. I feel your pain, we lost our nephew in a tragic car crash in 1997. Ricky was only 27 years old and may have been one of the first victims of the mysterious Ford Explorer rollovers.

Your memorial to your nephew is very touching, especially for a Tiger Fan. I see that you left space in the top to put the “National Champs” plaque that they will earn later this year (actually the very beginning of next year :-)). GEAUX TIGERS!!!
