I carved this bearded fellow in a large piece of Pine knot. He is around 15 1/2” tall and 9” wide. I carve using a Foredom, which is an electric rotary tool with various burrs and grinders. I finished this carving using an oil wash. His eyes are painted with a bit of blue- something a little different :)

Have a great day!

I like it! It seems more in keeping with your last few carvings? Happy spring!

Every time a Notification shows up in my email that says “Josh Carte has posted a new Project,” I take a deep breath, and adjust my drool cup. This one is no exception, Josh. This is fantastic. Please stick a profile shot in here.

Looks fantastic Josh. Great job, especially the eyes.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Josh, this is a great carving. One of the best that I’ve seen you have done.
