My grandmother gave me a corpus and told me to make a cross for it. So, about 7 years later, I did! It always takes me so long to get to anything :-(
The cross is Hickory, with bloodwood inlays and plugs at the corners. Wiped on Boiled Linseed oil for finish. I woodburned the “INRI” inscription on the top.

I agree with Ivan. I some cypress to make a cross for my mom and I found the pieces in my briefcase 7 years after she passed away.
