I made the table last spring and it has taken me a while to get to a point where I had time and space to make the chairs as well as a design I could be proud of. I came up with this idea and got to work. I used the Kreg jig to make the structure the wood is cedar with a dark red stain. Went with a mix of boiled linseed oil wipe on polly and some mineral spirits after 2 coats I applied some finishing wax for that added smooth feel. My first attempt at upholstery went well but not as easy as the internet makes it out to be. The wife is happy and we can stop eating out of our laps.
