I just completed my sun room this year, but still no sun!
I laid the foundation and used concrete forms for the posts. I insulated the floor and laid the floor.
Still no sun!
Then I built the walls with 6” X 2” and insulated them with glass fibre insulation.
Still no sun!
I built the roof, and insulated the roof with poly.
Still no sun!
I put in the double – glazed windows, and put on the weather proof boards.
Still no sun!
Here’s hoping that the sun will come out next year!

Jamsie, this is a nice addition to your home and bummer about the sun not cooperating though but that is pretty much the norm over there. While it may not be sunny a lot of the time, it is nice and green! :) But this is an addition that you can still use most of the year, nonetheless. I can just imagine what it is like sitting in the sunroom enjoying the view that you have on a warm summer’s day.
We added on a sun room last year and now it looks like a jungle in there since my wife insists on bringing in her plants that reside outside in the spring and summer. And, for some reason that I cannot understand, she continues adding to her plant collection each year so that more of the living space is being converted into what is essentially a greenhouse.

Thanx Scott!
My wife is barred from coming into the sun room! She already has plans to bring in her plants!
Anyway, I’m glad I built it.
Can’t wait until next year!

Looks to me like all the details were thought out. Great looking and structurally sound with lots of weather proofing. Great work, BTKS
