One of our members asked if anyone has ever built a wall hanging mail box.
I made this one a few years ago for my Son’s house.
I used the dimensions of a manufactured metal hopper type, that I have on my house
It’s made from some Swedish Pine, I’d bought at Home Depot.
I used a Norwegian Style Rose-malling for the carved flowers.
The carvings are starting to show up better now with the aging process
A couple of coats of Lacquer, & Spar wax.

Looks good Dick! Some pines are rather hard to carve, was this one of the hard ones?

Really nice work Dick. Home Depot call it Swedish Pine so they could charge more? I haven’t seen it at ours here in Southern Indiana.

Thanks to all of you.
I’m not sure if it’s Pine, it could be Spruce but each board had a imported from Sweden tag stuck on the ends. HD didn’t have any special advertisement for it. It reminded me of lodgepole Pine from out West. I bought a bunch of 1×6’s fairly reasonable.
I carved real nice though.

Dick;
Fine work. sometimes small projects are fun, as they don’t take forever to finish.
One of the things I like about turning.
In no time at all, you can have something beautiful.

The junk mail goes in the waste basket, & I let my Son take care of the bills. LOL
