Wave 21 – another 3D sculpture, this time done in Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba). The size is approximately 5 1/2” x 8” x 1” with a wall thickness of approximately 1/8”.

How did you shape it? I use a lot of jatoba & it’s not easy to machine. Nice work. It3s the base of a wall sconce.

Madmark and Don
I designed the wave using Aspire CAD/CAM software and cut the jatoba on my CNC machine. It took about three hours to design the piece and calculate all the toolpaths. It took another four hours to cut the jatoba on the CNC followed by about 2 hours of sanding.
