Birdhouses using Knotholes

Project by sailor27 posted 838 days ago 318 views 1 time favorited 13 comments Add to Favorites Watch

When making birdhouses out of old used cedar fence pickets, I like to find knotholes that can be used for the bird entrance. As the pictures show even the small knotholes can be used to make small birdhouses.

Very very cool. I really like these. I have a bunch of cedar laying around. Think I’ll make a few. Thanks for posting. I agree with Matt, the weathering is great.

Great Idea, Using a knot hole for the access hole gives them such a natural inviting look.

Great Idea! Now I’ve got to get out and find some lumber with knot holes.
