I decided tool build this crate when I realized that my Dutch tool chest was just too heavy to carry around with me to classes and demos. I got the idea for a Japanese tool crate from good old Pintrest, if your not on there I suggest you check it out. I put a wedge lock on the top and outfitted the inside with a saw and plane till and 2 sliding trays up top.

nice box with those trays! I’ve recently made a couple of boxes using the same style and it was very quick and fun to do.

Looks great! You could even use the top as a make-shift saw bench when on-site.
