Here are the last of the boxes that I had cut out from my box flang. They are made of Maple, Walnut, Cherry White Oak combination. They are all finished with conversion varnish.
I learned that there is more work to making a box than what meets the eye. Maybe yall will see one that you like. Thanks for looking. Griff

Nice looking boxes, Mike. I really like the lid design. The bookmatched panel on the second one from the left is fantastic!

Griff, I also like using my scraps to make boxes. The ones you show are really very fine!! I have used walnut, pine, Kentucky coffee tree and cataba among others. I generally use an oil finish I read about years ago in Fine Woodworking which was used by Sam Maloff. 1 part varnish, 2 parts boiled linseed oil & 3 parts turpentine. Have used it for quite a few years with great success. My boxes have not yet reached your level of excellence but I keep trying.

Thanks Fellas,
The book match did turn out pretty nice Charlie.
Boxbuilder Ive used oil on one box in the past. I like a shine. I use the conversion varnish and lacquers for time saving. they are very durable finishes.

Mike,
The boxes are great. I agree, the lid on the second box is fantastic. I like the background for your pictures. Makes me feel like I am back home.

Fantastic boxes. All very nice but….the second from the left really catches the eye with that bookmatching.
Keep up the great work.
