Well, while I’m struggling to rout a recessed lip for a jewelry box, at least I’ve gotten pretty decent at cutting boards!
This is a cutting board I made as a thank you gift. It’s curley maple with a bloodwood border.
2nd picture is pre-finish.
These pictures don’t do the curley maple justice, the grain is amazing.

Very nice. Being its not an end grain board let us know how durable it is under use. What kind of joints did you use for the boarder?

Ken, the joints are just straight butt joints.

Very nice board. This would also make a really nice hallway table top. Just add legs.

That’s a graet idea, I’ll have to do another one and use bloodwood for the legs

Beautiful cutting board although I wouldn’t use it to cut on : )
I like the table top idea as well .
