I’ve been wanting to make some placemats for a while and came across some old pieces of oak that I found in a dumpster. I glued a couple together and split them in half on the bandsaw. Then a few runs through the drum sander and rounded the edges on the router table. Finished with Howard Butcher Block conditioner.

Super cool! I made a set of 10 of these a while back out of curly maple. Did you have any trouble with them warping or bowing? How thick are they?

Russell…yes, they warped. I reversed the boards too so was disappointed. Haven’t figured out how to fix them yet but I’ll let you know if I do.
