Fun project because the area really needed soemthing that could only be made to fit. Small entry area with a radiator and a closet too small to hold anything. I decided to make a bench/ratiator cover with some attached shelves to put baskets for kids shoes, hats, gloves, etc.
I had recently refinished my front door and discovered it was made from Cherry so I used the same for the top surfaces of this piece and made the lower parts from Oak. I kept the Cherry natural and darkened the Oak to give a definite contrast. It fits the space well and is more useful than I had imagined.
