This is a very simple coffee table I made as a first project. This was made with one of those starter cordless kits that comes with a saw, drill, and light, as well as a router. The legs are essentially mortise and tenon, and the top is nailed into the apron (I liked the look of the rows of nails in the top, which you can’t really see in the picture). I also ran a router with an ogee bit around the outside of the top to provide the profile on the edge. It’s finished with a Minwax oil-based stain that turned out a little dark for my taste. All in all, a simple project to get the ball rolling.

Jeff, this is a nice table. It has clean, straight-forward lines to it and it looks like an excellent start on your woodworking journey.
