Christmas present I made last year out of southern yellow pine. All parts were glued and screwed together, then the screws was covered with wood plugs. I then painted the horse with latex paint. Used leather for the ears. Any place that I had to edge join boards, I used biscuits. Solid as a rock, and just about as heavy.

Cool Rocking Horse!
I really like the formed saddle.
