FAGAN'S BOOTS - Maple burl

My wood supplier had this odd chunk of maple burl (odd in that the piece was long and narrow, thick at one end and thin at the other end). I think he was testing my creativity and imagination so I split the piece in two and cut out blanks which reminded me of Fagan from Oliver Twist. I found the character despicable and at times grotesque the way he handled the young lads in the story.
The convoluted exterior and the beautiful grain and colour of the exposed wood seemed to fit the character.
Hope you like this pair. And I am alright, I don’t need a doctor!
Regards to all, Roman

Interesting, you have no end of ideas of how to get a piece of wood booted.
