The table top is a slab of cherry I cut from a log. After letting it air dry for over a year I hand planed it til absolutely smooth and applied several coats of lacquer. The base I rescued from the garbage someone had disposed of. Some sandpaper, steel wool and spray paint finished it off.

slab is real nice – can’t decide on the base

honestly I am not sure about the base either. If it doesn’t sell I can always save the top and scrap the base.
