Made a Beetle kill bar table for a friend of mine. Although the wood may not be the best choice for a durable table top, it has a look that many like.
I selected the wood mainly foe the grain patterns and then planed the planed prior to glue up. Glued with biscuits and formed into a square table. Used a router with a circle jig to round off the 44” diameter top. Finished with oil and poly.
I added a 1,.500” X .125 steel edge to the top, secured with lag bolts.
Legs are 1.500” square steel tubing with a clear powdercoated finished. Edge band was also powdercoated clear.
