These are the first projects from my wood deal with Blue Moon Exotics.
The Cuban Mahogany is my new favorite.
The Alexandrian Laurel surprised me when I applied clear lacquer. It is not a laurel, but a hard evergreen from Southeast Asia.
The Narra (amboyna) is lustrous, almost like tiger eye stone. The light refracts as the light source changes.
The pics really don’t do the woods justice.

Scott, these look really good. I am sure it must be interesting to work with different woods like you are doing. These are all woods that I have not had the opportunity to work with but they color and grain are gorgeous. These carvings will certainly make nice gifts.

Very unique, both the woods and your work.

Thanks folks. I really love experimenting with all these new (to me) woods. Stay tuned, I just got some yellowheart and purpleheart via my “keychains for wood swap” from PapaDan. Can’t wait to get out to the shop tomorrow.
