Haven’t posted here on LJ since I became a new member! I guess I have been busy with this whole college thing and haven’t had enough time to post :/ Anyways this was my hand at Intarsia. It was far to cold to be out in the garage working on something so I set up the scroll saw in the basement and went at this for awhile.

This is the logo for Coe College the place where I have called home for many years. We are the Kohawks. Don’t ask what that is because I honestly don’t know! I recently finished my 4th year of playing football but my 22nd year of being around Coe. My dad has been my football coach here for the last 4 years and has coached here at Coe for the last 26 years. Thought this would be a good gift for him to show him how much these years have meant to me and for helping me have such a positive college experience.

It was made from just some scraps I had laying around. Mostly had sanded to finish it all off and covered in Danish oil to really make it pop. Thanks for taking a look!

That turned out fantastic. I’ve tried twice at this and fail both times…horribly…so badly I didn’t even want to take a picture.
Great use of scrap too. You’ll have to keep your eye open for a scrap of Redheart or Bloodwood and swap out the eye.
