I made this box as gift. it is 10 inches long, 5 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. lined with flocking. also put some inlay on the lid. really simple project. box is made from oak, inlay came from woodcraft.

Robbi, nice work. This oak box looks sturdy and the tray is a nice touch. The inlay is well done and gives the box character. Thanks for the dimensions. A shot of the whole box with the lid on would also give viewers some perspective.

I am not a fan of box jointed boxes. They are very strong and before everything came in a cardboard box from Amazon; they did a nice job of being containers for shipping everything from ammo to fruit. The joints were cut in factories with gang saws designed to cut all the slots in one or two passes. They are extremely strong since they have so much glue surface, I personally don’t consider them attractive. But, everyone is entitled to their own opinion about beauty and taste.

Finish and handle are nicely done and this looks to be a very useful box that would give a lifetime of service. Anyone would be happy to have this as a thoughtful gift. Keep boxing and keep posting.
